Guided Audio Meditation Sessions

With Meditation & Mindful Movement Educator

Terry J. Hodgkinson

A complete collection of 42 guided audio meditations designed to cultivate awareness,

emotional resilience, and everyday mindfulness.

A Personal Note from Terry

This program is the result of many hundreds of hours of creation, listening, refining, and living the practices it offers. It has been shaped by over four decades of personal practice, teaching, travel, and reflection, grounded in what has been tested in real life, not only considered in theory.

Every meditation, theme, sound, and pause has been placed with care, guided by what genuinely supports steadiness, clarity, and inner ease.

More than a sequence of recordings, this is an offering, shared with the hope that it supports your own unfolding path. Whether you are new to mindfulness and meditation, or returning with years of practice behind you, may this journey meet you with gentleness, depth, and quiet companionship as you move through each day with greater presence, compassion, and awareness.

Guided Listening as a Living Practice

As one of the four core components of the Mindfulness for Life 21-Day Experience, the Guided Audio Meditation Sessions form the inner practice foundation of the program.

This component includes 42 guided audio meditation sessions, with 21 core meditations and 21 supplemental sessions designed to support reflection, integration, and everyday practice.

Each session combines spoken guidance, carefully chosen soundscapes, and special instrumental sounds to help create a supportive environment for mindfulness, relaxation, focused attention, and inner reflection.

Below, you can explore the full descriptions of the Core Guided Audio Meditations, the Supplemental Guided Audio Meditations, the Soundscapes used throughout the program, and the Sounds of Ritual & Resonant Presence that help shape the listening experience.

At the end of each Core and Supplemental meditation description, you’ll find a Music and Sound Support reference. These references point to the soundscapes, special sounds, and instruments used in that particular audio meditation, allowing you to explore how each listening experience has been carefully shaped to support the theme of the practice.

For your convenience, each reference code is linked directly to its corresponding description further down the page. Day 1 Awareness - The Starting Point of Change

Today, we begin by exploring the quiet power of presence, learning how to meet life fully, right here and now. Through focused attention on the breath, awareness is gently drawn into the present moment, allowing clarity, calm, and connection to unfold naturally.

This meditation is accompanied by the fable of the turtle and the fox, offering a simple yet enduring reminder of the wisdom found in steadiness and discernment. By embodying the turtle’s way, you are invited to protect your inner stillness and begin this journey rooted in patience, presence, and care.

Day 2 Breath – The Anchor Within

Today, we deepen self-awareness by returning to the steady rhythm of the breath. Through an ancient yogic breathing practice, attention is gently refined, supporting presence, grounding, and centering within both mind and body.

This meditation invites you to the lake of your own mind, at times still, at times stirred by ripples or waves. Whatever moves across the surface, the breath remains a calm, reliable anchor, helping you stay present and settled beneath the changing currents.

Day 3 Sound & Stillness – Strengthening Presence Through Listening

Today’s meditation anchors your awareness through sound. Three Tibetan bell tones, ringing in selected Solfeggio frequencies, resonate through different layers of awareness, supporting focus, releasing tension, and deepening your connection to the present moment.

Solfeggio frequencies are commonly used in sound-based practices for their calming and regulating effects on the nervous system. While research into specific frequency sets is ongoing, sound and vibration are well established as influences on brainwave activity, stress response, and physiological relaxation.

Day 4 Mantra – The Power of Repetition and Focus

Today we explore mindfulness through the sacred mantra Om, a primordial sound long used to focus the mind and settle the body. Like the Tibetan bell tones, this vibration deepens concentration and expands awareness, helping you tune into a deeper sense of inner stillness and connection. Whether silently repeated or softly spoken, Om invites you into a state of presence where thought quiets and calm arises.

Day 5 The Three Pillars of Mindfulness – Foundations for Transformation

Today’s walking meditation guides you on an inner journey through a peaceful natural landscape. Along the way, you’ll be introduced to the Three Pillars of Mindfulness: Focused Attention, Open Monitoring, and Acceptance, the foundational practices that will guide the days ahead.

As you move through the imagined terrain, let these principles steady your awareness and deepen your connection to the present moment.

Day 6 Returning to Centre – Deepening Focused Attention

Today, we step more fully into the first pillar of mindfulness: Focused Attention. With each breath, awareness is invited back to the present moment, training the mind to return again and again, becoming steadier, clearer, and more centred amid life’s many distractions.

This meditation also introduces Jyoti, the practice of candle gazing. Resting the eyes on a single, steady flame, the mind learns to settle and gather itself, allowing concentration to deepen and presence to become quietly luminous.

Day 7 Open Monitoring – Observing What Is

Today, we explore the second pillar of mindfulness: Open Monitoring, or present-moment awareness. Sitting beside a flowing river, you practise observing thoughts, emotions, and sensations as they arise, allowing them to pass like leaves drifting downstream, without judgment or grasping.

As awareness opens and softens, a natural spaciousness emerges. From this place, clarity grows, and the ability to choose where attention rests becomes easier, quietly supporting well-being as you move forward.

Day 8 Acceptance – Meeting Life Without Resistance

Today, we continue with the third pillar of mindfulness: Acceptance. As you sit beside the river, you witness its natural rhythm, at times calm, at times moving with force. In the same way, you are invited to observe your inner experience with openness and ease, allowing things to be just as they are.

As different sounds arise, notice your responses without resistance. Listen, acknowledge, and gently let them pass. Through this simple act of allowing, acceptance deepens, and the mind learns to soften its hold.

Day 9 Integrating the Pillars – A Unified Practice

Today, we bring together the Three Pillars of mindfulness: Focused Attention, Open Monitoring, and Acceptance, resting beside the flowing river of your inner landscape. As awareness settles, it becomes both steady and fluid, responsive to each moment without resistance.

Guided by a timeless reflection on serenity, “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference,” this meditation invites a deeper alignment between presence and choice. Like the river itself, you learn to meet life with clarity, adaptability, and calm resolve.

Day 10 Mindfulness Through the Senses – Awakening Your Perceptive Field

Today, we deepen embodiment through the doorway of the senses. By gently awakening sound, touch, sight, smell, and taste, awareness is drawn out of abstraction and back into direct experience, where presence naturally resides.

A guided body scan invites release, softening areas of tension and restoring a felt sense of connection from head to toe. Through this intimate listening to the body, you rediscover presence in its most grounded form, anchored not in thought, but in the living reality of sensation itself.

Day 11 Inner Voice Awareness – Changing Your Inner Dialogue

Today, we tune into the inner voice, the quiet stream of self-talk that subtly shapes your experience. The way you speak to yourself influences how you meet each moment, colouring perception, emotion, and response.

As you enter the peaceful garden of the mind, you begin to notice the tone and content of this inner dialogue with greater clarity. From this place of awareness, you explore the possibility of choosing thoughts that support steadiness, kindness, and well-being.

Near the end, a resonant Tibetan bell settles the space. As its harmonics fade, attention turns inward, inviting centering, quiet awareness, and natural allowing.

Day 12 Mindful Listening & Eating – The Power of Presence in the Ordinary

Today, we bring mindfulness to two everyday rituals: listening and eating. When met with full awareness, these simple acts become quiet gateways, transforming routine moments into sacred pauses of presence.

Through mindful listening, you practise being fully with another, receiving their words without interruption, judgment, or distraction. This quality of attention deepens connection and understanding, allowing communication to become an exchange of presence rather than habit. Alongside mindful eating, these practices invite appreciation, care, and a return to what is already here, revealing presence within even the simplest moments.

Day 13 Mindful Movement – Embodying Awareness Through Movement

Today’s practice brings mindfulness into movement: whether walking, driving, or travelling in any form. Awareness is invited to move with you, transforming motion into a living meditation.

After introducing the principles of mindfulness in walking, you are guided along a quiet forest path, allowing awareness to move naturally with each step.

Moving with intention, breath, and attentiveness, even ordinary journeys begin to feel meaningful, offering moments of connection with yourself and the world unfolding around you.

Day 14 Embracing Impermanence – Living with Presence in a Changing World

Today, we reflect on impermanence, the simple truth that all things are continually changing. Through breath and open awareness, you are invited to soften your grip on what is passing and to meet the ever-evolving moment with greater ease.

As ocean waves rise and fall, and the sound of a flowing river carries you forward, the meditation mirrors the natural rhythms of change. Listening deeply, you learn to relax into movement rather than resist it, discovering a quiet freedom that emerges through acceptance.

Here, impermanence is no longer something to fear, but something to honour, an expression of life’s unfolding intelligence. In allowing yourself to flow with change, a deeper sense of trust, peace, and respect for the wisdom of the universe naturally arises.

Day 15 Qigong Flowing Energy Palms – Harmonizing Breath, Motion, and Intention

Today, we explore Qigong: Flowing Energy Palms, a gentle, restorative practice rooted in the cultivation of vital life energy. Through this moving meditation, breath, intention, and soft, flowing movements of the hands and arms are brought into quiet harmony.

As you practise Energy Palms, one of Terry’s Seven Harmonies Qigong movements, you begin to awaken the natural flow of energy within the body. With time and ease, this coordinated motion supports calm, centering, and a sense of grounded vitality, allowing body and mind to settle into a unified rhythm.

An illustrated guide is provided below to support your practice, offering a visual reference for the hand movements used in the Energy Palms Qigong exercise.

Day 16 Mindfulness & Pain Management – Transforming the Way We Relate to Discomfort

Today’s session invites you into the practice of Open Monitoring, resting in present-moment awareness as you gently breathe in calm and clarity, and breathe out what no longer serves your peace.

As the meditation unfolds, you walk slowly along a forest path, guided by breath and attention, until you arrive at a quiet clearing. Here, you settle into an inner sanctuary of stillness. From this grounded place, you learn to meet sensations of discomfort with openness rather than resistance, allowing pain and unease to be held with steadiness, care, and compassion.

In this space, calm is not something you force or search for, but something

Day 17 Emotional Resilience & Gratitude – Strengthening from the Inside Out

Today’s practice supports the cultivation of emotional resilience. Beneath the movement and noise of experience, there is a deeper calm, a place you can return to, even when life feels unsettled.

In this meditation, awareness rises toward the mountain, steady, grounded, and unmoved by passing weather. From this vantage point, you explore your capacity to remain centred through challenge, discovering how gratitude can serve as a quiet, reliable source of strength and perspective. Like the mountain itself, resilience.

Day 18 Internal Representation & Perception – The Power to Choose Your Response

Today, we explore inner perception, including how thoughts, memories, and beliefs quietly shape the way reality is experienced. By becoming aware of these inner filters, space opens for clearer insight and more conscious, empowered responses.

This meditation invites you on a gentle inward walk, entering the house of your perceptive mind. As you move through its rooms, you discover a quiet inner sanctuary, a place where perception softens and perspective can shift. Here, you begin to see how experience is shaped not only by what happens around you, but by how meaning is formed within.

From this place of awareness, perception becomes less fixed and more fluid, allowing insight to arise and responses to be chosen with greater clarity and care.

Day 19 Resilience in Nature – Lessons from the Living World

Today, we return to the archetype of the mountain, a timeless symbol of stillness, strength, and quiet steadiness. Like the mountain, you are invited to remain grounded and present through shifting inner and outer weather.

As storms arise and pass, you discover an unshakable core within, a place of calm resilience that does not need to resist or harden. This meditation offers a gentle reminder of your capacity to endure, to remain centred, and to meet life’s challenges with quiet strength and grace.

Day 20 Noticing Joy & Wonder – Returning to What’s Already Here

Today’s meditation reminds us that mindfulness is not only about meeting difficulty, it is also about receiving joy. When we pause and open our attention, even the smallest moments begin to reveal beauty, wonder, and quiet meaning.

As you arrive beside a wide, flowing river, you are invited to notice what softens and opens within you. Like the water moving steadily onward, anything that dims joy can be gently released, carried away by the current. With space and presence, joy is no longer something to seek, it becomes something you allow to surface, expand, and flourish as you engage more fully with life.

Day 21 Reflection & Integration – Embodying the Path Forward

This meditation invites you to acknowledge the seeds planted over the past 21 days. Through attention, patience, and care, these seeds have begun to take root. As you move forward, carrying the tools and wisdom you have cultivated, they will continue to grow, quietly shaping how you meet each moment, each challenge, and each joy along your path.

Like threads woven with intention, your experiences, insights, and practices have formed a living tapestry. Each thread is meaningful, contributing to the rich fabric of your life. This journey does not conclude here; it expands with every step you take, every breath you return to, and every moment you choose to meet with awareness.

Soundscapes Within the Guided Meditations

Click each accordion below to explore the soundscapes that help shape the listening experience, creating a supportive atmosphere for presence, relaxation, and mindful awareness.

Each soundscape has been chosen to support the meditation in a particular way. These descriptions are offered for those who wish to better understand the qualities of sound behind each session, not as something to analyze, but as something to gently appreciate.

The soundscapes are identified with numbers to distinguish them from the Special and Instrumental Sounds used throughout the program.

M1 - Soundscape

(Soft harp tones; gentle, spacious, unhurried)

This soundscape offers a gentle, spacious atmosphere that naturally invites the body and mind to slow down. Soft harp tones unfold with ease, encouraging the breath to deepen and the nervous system to settle without effort. The sound moves fluidly and unhurried, creating a sense of safety and emotional softness that allows awareness to rest rather than strive.

The harp’s delicate resonance supports a quiet inward turning, helping mental activity soften while maintaining clarity and presence. With no sharp edges or driving rhythm, attention is free to settle into calm awareness, making this soundscape especially supportive for meditation, relaxation, and restorative practices. It works well when guidance fades into silence, offering a stable, soothing foundation that gently carries the listener into stillness.

Tuned to 432 Hz, the music carries a warm, gentle tonal quality that many listeners find supportive of relaxation and calm presence.

M2 - Soundscape

(Breath-paced flute; steady, flowing, lightly melodic)

This soundscape features a soft, breath-led flute that unfolds slowly and naturally, creating an immediate sense of calm attentiveness. The gentle phrasing mirrors the rhythm of breathing, subtly inviting the breath to lengthen and the nervous system to settle without effort.

The flute’s airy tone carries a quality of lightness and clarity, helping awareness remain present without becoming heavy or inwardly absorbed. Beneath the flute, faint string textures add warmth and grounding without drawing focus, allowing the sound to remain open and spacious.

Rather than directing attention or evoking strong emotion, this soundscape supports simple presence. It encourages listening as an act of allowing — where awareness rests in sound, breath, and moment-to-moment experience. This makes it especially well suited for mindfulness practices, walking meditations, and sessions that emphasize wakeful calm over deep absorption.

M3 - Soundscape

(Balinese tonal textures; grounded, ceremonial, earth-connected)

This Balinese-inspired soundscape is built around softly plucked acoustic guitar patterns, offering a warm, steady foundation that gently supports grounded awareness. The guitar unfolds with simplicity and ease, creating calm rhythmic continuity without drawing attention away from the meditation.

Intermittent bell tones arise naturally within the soundscape, their rounded resonance serving as subtle points of re-centering. These gentle accents refresh attention without interrupting stillness, inviting awareness back into the present moment.

A soft ambient layer weaves beneath these elements, adding spaciousness and continuity. Together, the guitar, bells, and atmospheric textures create a serene, ceremonial quality that supports relaxation, steady breathing, and quiet inward focus.

M4 - Soundscape

(Ambient relaxation music; slow, enveloping, sleep-supportive)

This soundscape creates a warm, enveloping field of sound designed to support deep relaxation and gentle unwinding. Its slow-moving ambient textures encourage the body to soften and the breath to naturally slow, helping the nervous system shift into a state of ease and restoration.

The music unfolds with a smooth, lulling quality that reassures rather than stimulates. There are no sharp transitions or dominant melodies to follow — only a continuous, calming presence that allows awareness to gradually release effort.

This track is especially well suited for evening meditation, recovery after emotional or mental strain, and practices focused on release rather than observation. It supports a gentle descent from doing into being, inviting rest, safety, and quiet integration.

M5a - Soundscape

(Minimal melody; subtle movement, inward-drawing)

This soundscape creates a spacious, atmospheric field supported by a gentle, minimal melodic line. Soft pads establish an open listening space, while the slow, simple melody offers a light point of orientation for awareness.

Rather than pulling attention outward, the melody quietly gathers the mind when it drifts, helping awareness return without effort or force. The absence of percussion or strong rhythm allows time to feel suspended, encouraging the breath to slow and the nervous system to soften naturally.

This version is especially supportive for reflective meditation, emotional integration, and practices where a subtle musical thread helps maintain presence without directing experience.

M5b - Soundscape

(No melody; spacious, neutral, deeply settling)

This soundscape offers a wide, open ambient field designed for deep stillness and spacious awareness. With only soft pads and atmospheric textures, the absence of melody removes any point of pull, allowing attention to rest freely.

The sound encourages the breath to settle and the body to release tension, while the mind naturally quiets through simplicity. This version is particularly well suited for open monitoring, extended stillness, and meditations where silence-with-support is preferred over musical guidance.

The sound does not guide — it holds space — allowing awareness to unfold without interruption.

M6 - Soundscape

(Devotional resonance; reverent, spacious, blessing-oriented)

This serene, devotional soundscape is built around soft ambient tones and intermittent bell chimes. The sustained atmospheric bed creates a sense of spacious calm, allowing awareness to settle without effort or direction.

The soundscape carries a quiet devotional quality, often used in practices of blessing, gratitude, or reverent presence.

At gentle intervals, warm bell tones arise and slowly fade, serving as subtle points of orientation. These resonant accents refresh attention without interrupting stillness, inviting presence through listening rather than focus.

The absence of melody keeps the soundscape open and unobtrusive, supporting meditation practices that emphasize reverence, quiet awareness, and inner stillness.

M7 - Soundscape

(Low-key ambient relaxation; soft, steady, emotionally calming)

This soundscape supports a gentle release of physical and mental tension while maintaining a state of clear, wakeful presence. As the body softens and the breath settles, effort naturally falls away, creating the inner conditions where understanding can arise without force.

The music unfolds steadily and without urgency, offering a calm, open field that encourages receptivity rather than striving. In this easing of effort, awareness is free to reorganize itself — allowing insight to emerge not through analysis, but through direct seeing.

This track is well suited for moments of integration, reflection, or quiet pause within practice. It supports the kind of relaxation from which clarity, realization, or sudden insight may surface naturally, as the mind rests and perception opens.

M8 - Soundscape

(Neutral meditation bed; unobtrusive, supportive, clear)

This soundscape offers a spacious and steady field of sound to support present-moment awareness and gentle inner stillness. Its tone is calm and unobtrusive, providing a soft container that encourages attentiveness without drawing the mind into narrative or emotional drift.

The music moves with quiet consistency, neither urging rest nor stimulating thought. It creates an atmosphere where awareness can settle naturally — allowing sensations, breath, and inner experience to be observed with ease. The absence of strong melodic direction supports a balanced state of alert relaxation, ideal for seated meditation, reflective practices, or mindful movement.

This track is well suited for practices focused on presence, centering, and integration. It supports clarity without effort and stillness without heaviness, offering a neutral ground where awareness can rest and gently deepen.

M9 - Soundscape

(Flowing melodic textures; water-like, continuous, gently uplifting)

This soundscape creates a gentle, flowing atmosphere that supports calm, presence, and ease. Its smooth, unhurried tones unfold like moving water — steady, spacious, and unobtrusive — making it easier for attention to rest without being pulled into thought.

The soundscape blends gentle melodic movement with a continuous, flowing quality reminiscent of natural streams.

The sound supports a grounded state of awareness where stillness and receptivity can emerge naturally. Rather than directing attention, the music quietly holds space, allowing each moment of practice to unfold with gentleness and continuity.
